If a vehicle needs enough amounts of fuel as well as maintenance to properly perform, then what about the human body. For some time, you neglect and abuse your body which leads to different problems and later on breakdowns. Stress gives the same effects on the body, for some people, it brings different symptoms which if left untreated can result in life threatening diseases such as cancer and heart disease. However, a diet which is well balanced composed of nutrient rich foods and supplements are essential not only for your health but for stress reduction. Adjustments to your diet now would immediately relieve the effects of stress which will give you enough energy, make you stronger and a lot more resistant from any types of diseases.

Here are some of the stress reducing foods.

•    Foods high in fiber like fresh vegetables and fruits as well as whole grains, increases serotonin, a hormone for mood enhancing in your brain, which naturally reduced the effects of stress in your body.

•    Eating raw fruits and vegetables often. Not only do they have in a lot of minerals and vitamins compared to cooked foods, they have compounds which help in the reduction of stress called flavonoids.

•    Yogurt and low fat dairy products are advisable because they are high in calcium content and magnesium. Foods with a lot of calcium and magnesium have been shown to be able to reduce stress because calcium and magnesium could relax the fibers of the muscles.

If there are those foods that you need to take, here are some foods that you have to avoid:

•    Sugar is a food that triggers stress due to the rapid fluctuations in the levels of blood sugar. Sugars could be hidden on some foods under names such as sucrose and dextrose.

•    Avoid drinks and foods that are high in stimulants like caffeine which attacks the immune and nervous system. Coffee, teas and chocolates must be taken in moderation. Moreover, there are levels of toxic acids in most soft drinks that remove calcium from the body which is a natural stress reliever.

•    As much as possible, you need to avoid foods like packaged snacks and meals which have artificial colors, preservatives and additives. These are chemicals that are hard on the body because the body recognizes them as new comers and therefore the body responds to them by fighting against them, which strains the immune system.
